When we were passing through Chico, I pulled up yelp to find a local treasure. I was shocked to find not one but 3 GHB's in the city. Happy Birthday to me...literally (we were headed to Lake Almanor for Birthday weekend camping). And yes. I know it's a chain but that doesn't count when it originates in your home state :)

Even with the mass expansion, the restaurant is still good. It was fun being able to unexpectedly introduce some of my food history to the kids. The sample bread slice they gave us while ordering is smaller than what I remember from Butte, MT (but still hearty). I usually get one of the sweeter breads as my sample and save it for dessert. However, as a family, we each got a different flavor and cut up the slices to make a fun sample platter appetizer. I can't remember our exact orders but I know I got the Southwestern Turkey on the Dakota bread (my go-to bread choice) and my husband's plate was clean before I had a chance to steal a bite. We'll definitely make Chico stop when we're passing through in the future!

Best bread in Chico. Consistently great food and customer service.
My go-to is the cinnaburst loaf-- works great for french toast.

I bought a loaf of sourdough, may be applying for a job at a later time to see if they want me to bake their sourdough for them. Seems like they need a new baker. Service was very friendly and good though.

Absolutely wonderful customer service from Heather!! She took care of me and my coupon that wasn't normally accepted at this location but she went above and beyond to make this customer happy! Unlike the mangrove location lol, they were horrible. this location was great

Breads only, no buns. A small assortment of other pastries in the freezer section.

Got a pumpkin chocolate chip bread and it was moist and delicious. White bread loaf was white bread loaf, nothing to write home about.

Probably wouldn't go out of my way to pick up bread.

But would definitely check out sandwiches, smelled and looked great.

Why would you open up in the morning if you have nothing to sell

The girl proceeded to tell me there is day old breakfast wheels in the refrigerator

Dislocation a few years ago used to be the spot to go to
Now it is by far one of the worst places and Chico to get service and to actually have food stock why would you have a bread store and have nothing on the shelves when you open up in the morning does not make sense to me if I wanna day-old stuff I would just swing by Safeway and buy something

I walk into great harvest and immediately i was not treated by the girl in the front. I just brushed it off and started to order my food. she had a butterfly tattoo on the inside of her for arm and her hair was dirty blonde. She was so inconsiderate and mean. 0-10 don't recommend because their workers are rude.

The coffee is the best in Chico without a doubt. The sandwich's are also never a bad idea to grab.

Not sure what is going on at this location. Came in just after 8 am to pick up coffee and a panini. All four employees looked hung over. Both the females had a cold, disinterested demeanor. One of them wouldn't even make eye contact with me, even though I was standing 3 feet from the counter while she was standing at the register. Even though there was only one other customer, everyone was moving like pond water. The mocha was terrible and tasted like watered down hot cocoa with a splash of instant coffee. The panini I ordered to go was good, which somewhat offset the rest of my experience this morning.

It had been some time since I was there. I was very surprised since Great Harvest was always prompt, friendly and quality.

I really like sandwiches- all types. Great Harvest is great. I love the options and how nice everybody is. I typically stick to the Italian because it is so yummy but I recently ventured to the chimichurri roast beef sandwich. Flavors were great and as always, the bread was fresh and just so good!
